Does what its supposed to!

This app has helped me improve my ability to match pitches, its great

Good app...some items for the next update wish list...

I am a voice/music theory/multiple instrument teacher to supplement my income as a recording artist/singer songwriter/record producer and engineer. I work with kids and adults ranging in age from 4 to 75. The bulk of my teaching is voice. I am a passable keyboard player, and I used to play scales while my students warmed up. I have an app that does that now, (not this one, but it would be cool if that was integrated. ;-) so I can focus on my student better, watching their breathing, etc. The more I am able to watch and listen, I notice more instances of students going flat and/or sharp. When I make a note of it, and bring it up during the session, a good deal of them flat out deny singing that way. I record all of my lessons, but even on playback, sometimes the student will not hear where they are going flat. This application is SO good for those students, because while their warm up hasnt changed, they can see the place where they slipped out of tune. It is an excellent tool to teach with, and the students love it, because it is more instructive than me saying, "You were flat there in the 7th measure." Thats great, but they sang it that way because they thought it was correct, and on recording, they hear it as correct. With this app, all doubt is removed, and it is time to work on the parts that didnt work, instead of trying to convince them that they did, indeed, slip out of tune. What Id love to see on this app: Playback! I searched and searched, and I still believe that just MAYbe I am missing it! There is a recording function, so...why wouldnt there be a playback? I have to believe it just isnt there, or Im blind as a bat, and someone will email me and tell me so. Im using an iPad 2 with the upgraded OS, in case that matters. If Im not missing it, and its just not there, it would be so great not to have to try to sync up the recording I made independently of the app TO the app...a bit of a waste of time. Scrolling back to the beginning...I have tried and tried, but I cant seem to get the app to scroll back. Again, I feel like Im missing something, but there are no instructions on the app that I can find, and scrolling doesnt seem to be something that is available. Those are the two big things that come to mind. I would gladly pay $30 or more for this app if it had those features. It is one of very few tools I have found in the app store that I find indispensable while teaching. Thank you!

Hate it

Worthless crap

Works

Works great as advertised. I would low to be able to record a session and be able to set upper and lower levels but still it is a great program

Good

Works! Requires a quiet(er) setting and some good volume from singer to get the most out of it.

Fantastic

Best app I have ever purchased. Great for the tone deaf like me

Very useful

Terrific app...though a little scary to see how often you "sing in the crack" or drift down in pitch. Definitely helps improve the sense of tonal center and interval accuracy. As others have mentioned, the big thing that is MISSING is the ability to review what you record.....it scrolls off the screen and is gone forever. Seems very odd. Or if playback/review is an option today, it is hidden with the skill of Wheres Waldo! If you are a singer, though, invest a few $ in this app!

Such a great tool!

I love this app but please, please, please add a playback button and an erase button! That would make it even better!

Wonderful

This is such a fun and easy to use tool! I recommend it for anyone practicing specific notes or learning new music. I request (along with nearly everyone else I believe) that there be some kind of playback option made available. A save option would also be nice and maybe even a way to. Compare your last few recordings to your current singing. Something like a different color overlaying the background maybe. that would be interesting.

Super for harp bends

Great app for practicing pitch on a harmonica. Best yet!

Meh

This was kind of a waste of five dollars.

Love it!

I really love this app but it would be so much better with a playback/review button!

Great for use with saxophone!

The line plotting is really useful for practicing vibrato and long tones. Wish the range of this extended to the top end of the soprano saxophone, but I understand that its a vocal tool. -Brian, SF, CA

X.x

Its okay but not worth spending 5 bucks for it.

Not bad

Simple and straightforward but sometime is sensitive to background noise

Range-limited

This seems to be set up for female voice. In my higher ranges it works great. But in my lower notes it cant decide what the octave is and jumps up and down, yielding an unusable trace. If that were set table, it would be an easy 5 stars.

Singing teacher

I like the results that my students get with this app. It would be a bit more user friendly if the space on the screen for each note were longer so that it could be used in real time with a piece rather than having to slow each note down to see a clear visual of the pitch accuracy. Still... Its very helpful and I am recommending it to colleagues.

Instructions please!

Its fun. It kind of tells you where you are vocally...it could be really useful if there were instructions. I would like the ability to record a melody, seeing the graph, then see after i sing the same notes, see the graph of where I need to match pitch.

Expensive for an app with no instructions or tracking

Without options, instructions or tracking, this is a lot to pay for an app. Still, my daughter is enjoying it and the realization that singing is harder than it looks.

Do Re Mi

Not so great and not worth the money. This is a one function app and should be free
